Object description :

"Neolithic Terracotta Tripod - Archeology"
Vase in beige-brown tones, with a flared neckline, with restorations on the latter, and remnants of concretions and roots. The three feet are typical of the Xiajiadian culture. The Xiajiadian culture, which developed in Inner Mongolia, is directly inspired by the Yangshao culture (5000-3000 BC), a culture characterized by great continuity and wide diffusion. The ceramic vessels decorated with undulating and zoomorphic patterns are undoubtedly the most impressive testimonies of this culture. The terracotta of these objects generally consists of a thick clay in red or light brown tones, which was baked at temperatures ranging from 800 to 1050 degrees. The vessels are not modeled on a potter's wheel, but by hand. They were worked with such care that, if we consider them superficially, they give the impression of being turned. This document is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and a certificate complying with the guidelines of OFC, the Swiss Federal Office of Culture, Specialized Service "International Transfer of Cultural Property".
