"Alexandre Evariste Fragonard, Study Of Swimmers With Putti"
Alexandre Evariste Fragonard (1780-1850)
Study of swimmers with putti, circa 1810
Sanguine and pencil Stamp of the workshop sale E. Fragonard

Alexandre Evariste Fragonard received the teaching of his father Jean Honoré Fragonard before entering the " workshop of David. He was recognized as a History painter and painted many Troubadour subjects.

This study is reminiscent of the work of his father, a quick and light sketch of the characters where movement is very present. The two swimmers who play with the putti are a theme dear to Jean Honore Fragonard that one finds in his paintings and which also evokes the 3 Graces supposed to represent the Ruggieri sisters. The sheet is glued to a cardboard support.
