Ceramist, painter and engraver, Philippe Rouart is the second son of Louis Rouart and Christine Lerolle and the cousin of Paule Gobillard. Thus descended from the two great families of impressionist painters (Lerolle and Rouart), he was initiated from his earliest childhood in pencil and pencil in the midst of his aunts Julie Manet and Berthe Morisot, guided by his godfather and mentor Maurice Denis, Met Desvallieres, with whom he maintained a strong friendship till 1950.

He exhibited in 1920 at the Salon de Champ de Mars, the Independents, the Salon des Tuileries, in 1926 at the Galerie Druet and the Salon d'Automne. He participated with his uncle Ernest Rouart in the organization of the exhibition of the centenary of Manet in 1932, that of Edgar Degas in 1937 and of Berthe Morisot in 1941. He will also participate in the great adventure of the Sacred Art.
