"Rene-marie Castaing: Portrait Of A Young Boy"The great artist René-Marie Castaing (1896-1943), First Grand Prix of Rome 1924 excelled particularly in works on paper: charcoals, pastels or gouaches. If I have never met him for obvious reasons of dates, his native house was right in front of the Galerie de Pau! With a sensitivity that allowed him to grasp the soul of his models, he gives us here an adorable portrait of a little boy, pastel 40 X 31 cm on bistre paper, signed and dated 1941, presented in a 66 X 57 cm Carved wood and rechampi a slightly deformed characteristic of the artist.
