Object description :

"Oil Chandelier, Hebraic, Bronze Faded Star, Louis XIV"
Jewish chandelier, or perhaps simply eight beaks cellar oil lamp star of David shaped, late 17th century. Bronze cast and polished in four parts: Openwork crown in which is nested the hoop of suspension, (two old reinforcements more or less skilful), Shaft cast bronze and turned, big star with eight branches, the center forming Oil reservoir, each of which can accommodate an overflowing wick to create 8-light illumination. This heart of the chandelier, which is decorated in engraving to be visible from below is fixed to the shaft by a bayonet system, unreliable now because of the wear and tear of time and use. Oil recovery, a little bit twisted. These chandeliers, often from the East of France, Louis XIII or Louis XIV are considered as Hebraic lights but nothing proves it ... because the star shape was simply brilliant to see clearly at that time the candle was not common or very expensive .... Exterior dimensions: 50cm x 27cm, weight: 3.6kg.Condition of discovery / Wear, restorations mentioned in the crown, uncleaned, as I found .... but authentic And sincere, an object of another time.
