Engraving from André Dunoyer De Segonzac (1884 - 1974), titled Fenaisons I, well marked in the board. Representing women doing sheaves of wheat circa 1925. Signed lower right in pencil "A Dunoyer De Segonzac" and numbered 6/25 left. Good condition. Sheet Size: 32.5 cm x 42 cm. Plate dimensions: 22 x 29.5 cm. André Dunoyer de Segonzac is born in 1884 in the Essonne. In 1900 he joined the School of Fine Arts in Paris and in 1903, the private studio of Luc Olivier Merson. In 1907, Segonzac met Luc-Albert Moreau and Boussignault with whom he shared a studio. His first drawings were published in 1908 in "La Grande Revue" and "Witness." At that time he painted and drew still lifes, nudes, landscapes. Segonzac exhibited at the Salon des Independants and the Salon d'Automne in 1907. Segonzac then rented a villa owned by Signac in Saint Tropez, a village that will live until the end of his life ... summer! Every winter, in fact, the artist leads a nomadic life traveling across France. In 1910, Segonzac met Max Jacob and Maurice de Vlaminck. From 1910 to 1914, Segonzac trip to Italy, Spain, Africa. Mobilized during the war in the infantry, he executed many drawings on the atrocities it crosses. In 1919, his works are included in numerous exhibitions, is now a recognized artist. In 1920 London hosts a major exhibition of the artist, in 1934 he received the prize of the Venice Biennale in 1938 he exhibited in Chicago. Dunoyer de Segonzac carried out several hundreds of prints, etchings etching mainly technique he mastered perfectly. He also contributed to many books: "Bubu of Montparnasse", "The Georgics", illustrated with engravings in etching. The artist died in 1974 in Paris.
