"Bronze Sculpture Signed Cambos, "bather" XIXth"
Bronze sculpture of a bather, inscribed "Gold Medal for Fine Arts", signed CAMBOS Jean Jules, born in Castres April 28, 1828, died on May 2, 1917. Trained at the School of Fine Arts in Paris and contemporary of Rodin. He began exhibiting in 1857 at Unique Salon and the Champs-Elysées Show and from 1904 at the Salon of French Artists. He was quickly noticed, since 1859. "The Grasshopper" earned him great success and a medal. He received another medal in 1866 and the 1867 World Expo The works exhibited at the Musée d'Orsay in Paris and the Museum of Castres.
