Object description :

"Tuareg Camp - Ferdinand David 1861/1944"
Dimensions without frame: 22 x 32 cm. modern setting with "museum" glass. What simplicity in the composition! But how this same sobriety recreates the atmosphere of these arid lands where Tuareg live. In the background, some khaima tents woven from hair sheep, goat or camel. They house the families in them spaces they shall adjust (the male and guests, of women) while a few goats graze skinny brush growing between rocks and sand. The artist recognized personality as he was the curator of the museum of Agen, and prolific painter, he leaves a work of poetry imprint, sensations of light and color, softness and serenity that mark the seasons of this country agenais he enjoyed.
