"Bijar Persian Carpet End"
Persian Carpet Bijar end around 1980 Entirely hand-knotted, Vegetable dyes, Pure wool, Size: 2,14mX1,34m Carpet Bijar is a type of Persian carpet. Its main feature is its frame: it is generally formed of five son, four wool, loosely and a central cotton, which is stretched. The weaver must use a special comb to compact nodes, giving a tight and heavy appearance to the carpet. The Bijar often has a decoration of flowers, very schematic drawing showing a primitive inspiration. The decor is generally composed of a central medallion on a background decorated with flowers or a very dense Herati pattern. Additional copies consist of a central medallion on plain background with four corner pieces with floral decoration. The edging is conventional, a framed central strip of two subbands, the herati pattern border is frequently used and stylized flowers. Color beauty is a characteristic of these carpets, dark tones to the fields (dark blue, red amaranth, green bottle) and bright colors to the patterns (turquoise or other). This carpet is quite rare because the copies dating from before 1960 are few
