"French Renaissance Wood Panels, Circa 1550"
Mounted as doors in later times, these superb oak panels are carved with low-relief ornamentation typical of the Renaissance : foliages and rincels alongside a candelabra. Inside a laurel wreath, small heads in a different wood are facing each other : on one side, the head of an helmeted warrior, on the other, that of an african man.
Originally part of a piece of furniture, or dismantled woodwork. We chose to keep the panels in their frame.
Lacks, some worm holes in the door frame.
