"In Earth Object Glazed Signed And Dated 1853"
Rare Folk Art object contained a clock .Signé back hollow in the paste: Made in 1853 by Pierre Chazeau. After some research, he is a potter tile maker of vllage Bessat in Corrèze. Found on internet interesting documents. The land used for this purpose is also consistent with that used for the manufacture of tiles that région. On sees an early signature on the dial. it consists of two parts emboitant. Inside, a ground support, perhaps to hide a watch. on 3 sides, embossed decorations, cast I think, to religious subjects .On the top, former restoration and lacks a baluster or balls crowning the object. Dimensions: Height: 41cm. Sides: 12cm width: 25cm at the base. This is undoubtedly a work of "comfort" full of charm and presence. Feel free to contact me for more information.
