"Grand Cartel Eighteenth Signed Le Roy In Paris"
Important cartel of applicable time period eighteenth transition Louis XV Louis XVI in 1770 ormolu decorated with a female mask and foliage, it is with a bowl at the antique. The enamel dial is signed LE ROY in Paris is part of a drapery flanked by acanthus leaves, animated by fine needle finely chopped showing the time in Roman and Arabic numerals. Original movement in suspension over in operating condition. Dimensions: 92 cm high x 40 cm wide. A similar pattern is reproduced in Vergoldete Bronzen I, p.185, No. 3.8.10. One copy is kept in the Hermitage in St. Petersburg. Note that the same cartel was selling for € 7,000 at auction at Daguerre 18 March 2001 (reference available on request).
