"Hst "wreck" Signed Robert Delcourt, Dated 1957"
Table oil on canvas entitled "The Wreck" by Robert Delcourt. Dated 1957 on the back with artist's certificate of authenticity. Size without frame 60 * 80cm. Mr Robert Delcourt Delcourt Robert born in 1917, died aged 83 in 1999. From an early age, Robert Delcourt was very sensitive to the arts in all its forms. Was taken captive in the enclave of Dunkirk and sent to a prison camp under Bertin in Stalag 5 B. During this period he turned to Catholicism in order to keep psychologically. That's when he realized his first sculptures and paintings with a knife. Was liberated by the Russian army at the end of the war. To find a job, the family settled in the Paris suburbs, first in Champigny sur Marne in 1952 and then to 14 in Antony Villa Maurice or she had built a pavilion. Throughout his professional life, Mr. Robert Delcourt worked with designer quality Dupuy-Dubray institutions Ivry. Mr Robert Delcourt, totally self-taught, was interested in all art forms. Besides the 850 wooden sculptures which were his favorite form of expression, he painted more than 2,000 paintings, either in oil or watercolors, form of expression in which he excelled, ie drawings and caricatures. He also touched on burning realizing among other brass engravings for printing banknotes. Having built a house for a family vacation in Biscarrosse-Plage on the moors, he realized in the workshops of Mr Gauguin, a local potter, some forty particularly interesting ceramic works. The diversity of studies of any kind which geometric volumes as well as studies on the colors led him to write an account of author to the book: "The color for the painter" in 1979. Mr Delcourt exhibited his works at exhibitions various, including French artists at the Grand Palais and of course the living room Antony. Note that he was president of the artistic circle of Antony for two years. Several winning at trade shows or events deemed he could never live his art, talent in these environments not enough ......
