"Romantic lakeside Landscape" Oil on panel signed and dated lower right: "Dequin 1855" The table is a beautiful romantic landscape with a lake at the bottom of a village and lined a ruined tower on the left; on the right a winding path lined with trees and rocks with a talking couple. The panel was lined by a fabric and mounted on the chassis. Gilt wood frame antique Louis XVI style. NAPOLEON III PERIOD. Dimensions: View: length 53.6 cm x 44.6 cm height. Setting: length 73 cm x height 64 cm. Chalon painter Auguste Dekin was born 27 December 1819. He attended the Free School of Drawing held at Chalons by the engraver Joseph Varin (1796-1843). He specialized in landscape painting, where he had some success with fans of his time. The Chalons museum preserves several landscapes of this regional master.
