Object description :

"Wax Seal, France, Circa 1700"
  • Iron
  • Very good condition
  • Wax Seal , forming wax pouch, round section. The cylindrical cover of the case made stamp office: octagonal section, a Mavelot three intertwined letters topped with a flaming heart. On the second part of the cartridge case a coat of arms accompanied by a crown of Comte.
  • Weapons: silver, chevron in chief with three poorly-ordinate stars and at the base of a crescent (?); red enamel (?). Probably coats of arm of the Dansays family, lord of La Salle de Brillac.
