In its original frame gilded wood. Dimensions with the frame 36.5 x 24 cm. Student of Alexandre Cabanel (1823-1889) and his father Emile Lafon (1817-1886), a painter who received many official orders. He exhibited at the Salon from 1875 allegories, mythological, religious and orientalist, nymphs and portraits of women. His style is slender, graceful and often borrowing a dreamy nostalgia. His works are presented in many French museums (Rouen, Saint-Brieuc, Chateauroux, Chambéry, Dole, Beziers, La Rochelle, Soissons, Rennes, Castle Asnières ...) and in particular the Périgord Museum in Périgueux, birthplace of family. He will be a member of the National Society of Fine Arts from 1890. Like his father he received many official orders.
