Pair of oils on canvas depicting vases of flowers on entablatures, accompanied by small insects. This pair of paintings was embedded in the woodwork where this form fretwork. Entourage Philippe de Marlier. Philippe de Marlier, born about 1573, died in 1668 in Antwerp, is a Flemish painter of the Baroque era. He is known for his still lifes faithfully representing flowers and fruit. It is also known for his oil paintings of religious devotion media (saints, Madonnas surrounded by flowers or garlands of flowers and fruits (currants) where you can sometimes distinguish insects (butterflies ..) or snails like this is commonly done in the Dutch still lifes of time or time that followed old restorations.
