This Virgin, represented in profile, is wearing a shroud. The background is amatized and raised with branches. The skin tone is still partially present, as is the colour of the hair. The gilding is cleaned and still very present. The presence of grooves on the sides suggests a tongue-and-groove frame typical of 17th century cabinetmaking.

This is a rare example of lithographic carving in the midst of the hard-line Spanish counter-reformation movement. Similar examples allow this location (cf. Laurence Fligny).
