Around 1910, he moved to Rouen and discovered the charm of the old quarters. Friend of Othon Friesz, the young painter visits the city of Le Havre, Fécamp, Harfleur and Honfleur also seduce him. He expresses these ports with a very sober palette, reducing the forms to the essential, privileging the rhythms and the balance of the painting. His “too bare” painting did not benefit from the favors of the Norman public. In 1934, he left Rouen for Beirut where he remained until his death, actively participating in the artistic life of the country.
