French fan, "Ernest Kees Paris". The leaf is in tulle painted with gouache of a young woman releasing birds, two putti trying to catch them. The scene is signed lower left G. Bertoni? The frame is in pierced and engraved wood. In its original cardboard box covered with silk with the embossed initials of its owner and marked on the inside "Ernest Kees, Fabrique d'éventails, 9 boulevard des Capucines, Paris". The fan is 13,78 inches long when closed and 26,18 inches in diameter when open. France, Paris, late 19th century / 1900.
