"Very Beautiful Katana Gendaito Blade, Signed "
Very nice Katana Gendaito blade, Zaimei "Harumitsu刀工名>治光", with a Hamon Chu-Suguha and a magnificent Itame-hada. The blade is mounted in a Koshirae with silver Fuchi/Kashi/Menuki and the Habaki and the 2 Seppa silver plated. The Tsuka is braided in Hineri-maki with a blue Ito in natural Japanese silk and a premium Same. All in a very beautiful Japan brocade cover. The Saya is lacquered black with a ray skin insert and is equipped with a blue Japan natural silk Sageo.

Name of blacksmith: Okawa Osamu 大川 治 name of craftsman: Harumitsu 刀工名>治光: Born in 1936, he was a student of Master Kawauchi Kunihira 河内國平. Harumitsu is a sword blade smith from Wakayama Prefecture. In the past, he won three awards for his work because he was a very talented blacksmith, but also had great skills in metal engraving. (Bohi/Horimono).
Location: Kishu (South of the Kii Peninsula, Kii no kuni, Wakayama-shi, Kansai Prefecture)
Date: Heisei era (1989-2019) Blacksmithing school: In the Tradition of Soshu-Den and Bizen-Den - Location: Kishu (Wakayama-shi Peninsula), Kansai region south of Osaka.

Sugata type: Shinogi-zukuri – Dimensions: Ha: Moto-haba: 3.1cm – Saki- haba: 2.3cm Blade thickness: Moto-gasane: 0.7mm – Saki-gasane: 0.5mm
Bo-hi (with grooves): Double, Long and deep on each side of the blade. (very fine dexterity of the craftsman).
Jihada type: Itame hada with very nice grain, very well forged blade, no doubt.
Hamon type: Chu-Suguha (Straight temper), Hamon with a lot of activity: Ashi and fine lines of Kinsuji, proof of the excellent mastery of high temperature forging techniques.
Type Kissaki: Chu-Kissaki. Medium sized kissaki.
Boshi type: Ko-maru Sagari, Omote side and in Nie-kuzure (Very fine brush marks), Ura side.
Steel type: Tamahagane - Blade with a very good Japanese polish and a good edge Flaws: Some minimal scratches.
