"Important Pair Of "bamboo" Candelabras In The Style Of H. Cahieux And F. Barbedienne Circa 1870"
Important Pair Of Candelabras With Six lights In Bronze, Gilded And Patinated, With A Shaft Decorated With Bamboo Enhanced With Chains. This rod rests on a bronze and alabaster tripod base surmounted by griffins, with the heads and claws of lionesses, with a brown patina and decorated in their center with palmettes. On the top of the rod there is a head of Osiris, an antique capital and the five sconces supporting the candles, with a neo-Egyptian inspired decor. Work similar to Henri Cahieux (1825-1854) chief decorator of the art bronzier Ferdinand Barbedienne. Numbering and letters under the foot.
