"Ceremonial Inkwell, Amboyna Burl, Silvered Bronze, Second Empire"
Luxurious object, beautiful circular shape, cabinetwork plated with Amboyna burl, silver-plated bronze fittings. It brings together an inkpot, a talceur, a pen holder, a candlestick, a half-moon housing, it is lit in the center by engraved candlestick, an openwork and engraved gallery surrounds it, (all this is removable ), 3 plated bronze claw feet, 3 lion head mascarons, tightening a ring, one turned base of silvered brass.No signature, but 2 stamps, (under foot and on the bobèche)
Condition: beautiful to see, silvering is still fresh, varnish of the wooden part intact.
But, a little play on fixing of central candlestick, and, a previous owner had to try a clamp without precaution, leaving small scars, (see photo)
