Coffee table made by designer and interior architect Jean Maurice Rothschild. Our table rests on a wrought iron tripod base with strongly flattened ends. This base supports three statues representing characters dressed in clothes in the medieval style supporting the top like Atlanteans. White marble top veined with wood and surrounded by a wide belt in hammered wrought iron and decorated with three large rings. Jean Maurice Rothschild (1902-1988) was a French decorator and furniture designer. His most famous works are the furniture made for the smoking room and the first-class grill of the liner Normandy and those made in 1937 for the restaurant on the Eiffel Tower in Paris. From 1917 to 1919, he was a student at the Boulle school in Paris. In 1921 he worked for Jacques-Emile Ruhlmann.
