Cane Pommel With A Dog's HeadFrance, late 19th century

Carved in the round, this cane pommel is a dog barking with its mouth open. Its coat is finely sculpted in undulations, its muzzle pierced with two small nostrils and dressed with individualized hair, its mouth furnished with small teeth and incisors and its eyes sulphur.
