Officer's sword of the National Guard, July Monarchy period, model 1817, 19th century. Bronze frame, cap in the shape of a rooster's head with open beak and feathered neck. Guard branch decorated with foliage, flowers and naked vestal. Symmetrical and curved keyboard decorated with the Gallic rooster with outstretched wings holding Jupiter's spindle in its claws and the left paw on the terrestrial globe, against a background of trophies of 4 flags and two lions' heads. Reduced-type engraved keyboard counter. Double quillon ending on one side in a palmette. Checkered rocket. Blade with flat back with trace of engraving and central groove in the 2 thirds.
