Bronze patina brown, entitled "Sheep suckling his lamb" signed PJ Mene, born in Paris March 25, 1810, died in Paris May 21, 1879. He made his debut at the Salon of 1838. Model exhibited at the Salon of 1845. Leads Pierre Jules is the most famous animal sculptor after Barye. This bronze represents a sheep suckling its lamb, this bronze is one of the 5 models exhibited at the Salon in 1845 in Paris.This ewe carries a bell around her neck and suckles her newborn baby.
