Antoine Vollon (1833-1900) A student of Théodule Ribot, Vollon was one of the representatives of the realist movement and one of the most famous painters of still lifes in a traditionalist spirit, from the second half of the 19th century.
He sacrificed in the fashion of the Second Empire for paintings showing the reunion of precious objects, in the style of Kalf and David de Heem (Nature morte of François Ier, Musée d'Orsay).
