Uncommon Infantry officer's saber, model 1855 with Marking on the back of the blade: Manu de CHEZELLE near CHATELLERAULT RASSINOUX & CIE. (Contractor 1836 of the CHATELLERAULT factory, Moulin de CHEZELLES 1844/1857 - see reference, book "LA COUTELLERIE" by Camille PAGES, Tome III, pages 614 to 622) (See photos) Flat back blade with 1 edge, dorsal gutter and central gutter over the entire length ending 3 cm from the tip. Blade with slight arrow. Frame in gilded brass, crown with bay leaf border, along the short tail. Underside of the keyboard bearing the marking "Cartridge with barrettes", (see photos.) Buffalo horn wrist without its filigree thread. Rounded joining arc. Pommel game. Blade traces of blows on the cutting edge. No scabbard.
