>> Pauline VALLAYER-MOUTET (1873-1950)
Student of J. Lefebvre, Laurens, and Tony Robert-Fleury. Member of French Artists since 1901; bronze medal in 1900 (Universal Exhibition), honorable mention in 1906, third class medal in 1909. (Cf Bénézit)

Pauline VALLAYER-MOUTET is best known for her extremely delicate genre scenes. She captures with great delicacy the scenes from the daily life of the women of her time: the seamstresses and lace-makers who are busy by the window, the children's afternoon tea, the cleaning of the brass ... Her warm palette and touches give to his work a real sweetness.
