"Pendulum Attributed To Thomire"
Mysterious clock with the bacchante. Around 1795-1800. Attributed to Pierre Philippe THOMIRE (1751-1843). In chiseled bronze, patinated, silver and gold. Bacchante facing a love sitting on a rocky slope from which escapes a source of silver color, discovering a dial with rotating circles. Base in friezes of orves and darts, frieze of gadroons and vine leaves encircling a base of levanto marble green and red. Prototype, very probably unique model. A pendulum adorned with the same central figure and the same satyr, entitled "the chariot of grape harvests" dragged by two lion cubs, the movement of Dubuc the Younger was kept at the Ministry of War.
