"Georges Romathier : "set Of Four Abstract Paintings"""
I managed to identify the author of these small paintings with a high quality abstract lyricism thanks to the help of a surfer! ..
This is Georges Romathier, born in 1927. Very close by The spirit of Joan Mitchell or Sam Francis, however, has a specific style that identifies it immediately, even if it could have taken place in the superb exhibition "Monet and American Abstraction" if we had hidden his nationality ! .. The care given to their frame (marouflage on panels, mounting in American boxes and silver frames inverted slopes 33 X37 cm) indicates that their previous owner whose identity I do not know also valued them a lot.
These are mixed techniques (oils? Gouaches? Acryliques?) On paper approximately 12.7 X 16.5 cm, mounted on panels, and bearing a monogram snake-like sea.
Three of them are horizontal, the fourth vertical.
This is a superb ensemble.
Do not hesitate to ask for photos or additional information by mail or phone.
