Charming oil on original panel by the french painter Lazare MEYER (1847-1935).

He was the student of Alexandre Cabanel (1823-1889) and Emile Levy (1826-1935) at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris. In collaboration with Jules Paul Loebnitz potter, he realizes, after drawings by Emile Levy, three large ceramic panels intended to adorn the monumental porch flag of the French Section of Fine Arts of the 1878 World Expo at Paris. They represented the Architecture, the Painting and Sculpture. It is one of the first painters of Montmartre and is considered the precursor of the School of Paris. He was close to the painter and portrait artist Albert Besnard (1849-1934). Lazare MEYER exhibited at Salon of Paris from 1870 to 1882.
