Object description :

"Alabaster Sculpture"
Alabaster sculpture 31 cm high, from northern Italy dating back to the twentieth century.

The Faun is a figure of Roman mythology, a protector deity of Nature, in particular of the countryside and woods.

His appearance is human-shaped, but with goat's feet and horns on his forehead, he is a creature that is half goat (the legs) and half man, with a bristly and boyish face, full of precocious wisdom, but also of an energy and joy.
