Beautiful finely crafted work by the Marseille painter André Maglione which represents an animated view of fishermen on the Quai du Bescon in Martigues. The artist was able to transcribe the atmosphere of the beginning of the day on the Mediterranean through his palette of colors and his play of light.

Pupil of the painter Emile Loubon and close to the painters Félix Ziem, Joseph Suchet and Adolphe Monticelli, André Maglione exhibited in 1866 at the Paris Salon. He is the founder of the artistic Circle of Marseille in 1867, and appears regularly in the exhibitions of the Association of Marseille artists. In 1903, he published a book entitled "Monticelli intimate from 1871 to his death" where he describes Paul Cézanne's encounters with the painter. Monticelli.

Dimensions: 45.5 x 62 cm without frame and 76 x 93 cm with its imposing original frame in gilded wood.
