Oil on wood panel representing a washerwoman by the river, our artist's favorite theme. Signed lower right HJ Delpy. In a wooden and stucco frame with a golden patina from the beginning of the 20th century. Dimension: 27 cm x 46 cm without frame 39 cm x 58 cm with its frame Very good condition. The period frame and probably the original one has some wear and retouching from use. Henry-Jacques DELPY was born on June 28, 1877 in Bois-le-Roi (Seine et Marne) and died on November 24, 1957 in Paris. Painter of landscapes, landscapes of water, like his father, Hippolyte Camille Delpy, of whom he is a pupil.
