P. Valmon is the pseudonym of EH Cauchois (1850 - 1911).
Eugène Cauchois studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris in the workshops of Ferdinand Duboc and Alexandre Cabanel. He specialized in the compositions of still lifes representing fruits, flowers and kitchen utensils. He also painted landscapes and marine views. He stayed in Brussels between 1878 and 1879. He got into the habit of signing his paintings with the name of the month during which he made them. At the end of his life, Eugène Cauchois embarked on decorative painting with floral compositions. His works are in the museums of Montabaun, Rouen, Angers, Louvier. Bibliography:
