Small Jumping Commode, Louis XVI Style - Early 20th Century

Graceful Small Chest of Drawers in the Louis XVI style, composed of two Mahogany Essences. On its Top rests a Pretty Red Griotte Marble from the Pyrenees, with Concave sides, following the Curved lines of the Furniture. This Centenary Commode is built on each side of a Pair of Drawers, of an identical Depth of 10 cm. Each of these Compartments is lined with an Upper Lock, a Cutout Keyhole accompanied by its Bronze Key. Everything is original. The Fronts of these Storage Units feature a Fine Light Mahogany Veneer forming Pretty Diamonds. They are accompanied by a frame in dark Honduran mahogany, itself embellished with a subtle fillet of lemon tree and ebony. Note the absence of a visible cross between the high and low storage units, thus creating perfect continuity in the marquetry patterns. In the center, this Dresser opens with a Curved Door, in Light Mahogany Veneer, representing a Sun. On its edges, we find the same properties as on the drawers, thus distinctly separating the two essences of mahogany. The interior offers two compartments formed by the presence of a 28 cm deep shelf, Removable, placed on fixed cleats. The sides of the Cabinet are Concave and Chevron Patterns are represented there. Here we find the same framing technique as that described above. The Front Uprights are adorned with Authentic Bronze Ornaments. The set rests on four feet in solid Dark Mahogany, Inlaid with Light Mahogany and underlined by Lemon Tree and Ebony Fillets. The interior of the drawers as well as the back of the Cabinet are in Oak. We will appreciate the Meticulous workmanship and the diversity of Mahogany tones used on this Elegant Chest of Drawers: its buyers will be won over.
