Baluster vase in glazed ceramic with faun decorations and sinusoidal frieze. Attributed to Giulio Rufa, Italy, circa 1920.
Good condition: small chips restored on the base.
Dimensions:height:11.81in,diameter:6.69in
Giulio Rufa was born in Rome in 1903, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and learned the profession of ceramist from Duilio Cambellotti. He participated in the first international exhibition of decorative arts in Monza and worked in several workshops including Palatino Ars and Feruccio Palazzi.
