"Nativity - Ippolito Scarsella / Scarsellino (16th Century Painting)"
This refined painting is enclosed in a gilded frame from the same period of the work, we believe to be contemporary, and which bears the artist's name in two places (see photo). Our experts believe that the painter is Ippolito Scarsella (called Scarsellino). The work probably comes from the dismembered altarpiece of Santa Giustina. It is probable that it is the predella of the Nativity (see page 340 of the book “Scarsellino” - by Maria Angela Novelli). Currently, the painting is in a warehouse in Italy.
