Oil on canvas (not rentoilée) in its original frame carved and gilded. Vintage wrought iron nails are still present. Total dimensions: 53 x 43 cm This precious little painting of private devotion, represents the meal of the Holy Family, the table is set up in front of a window opening on a landscape. Joseph standing to the left looks at the teenage Christ who near his mother, his outstretched hand points to the sky. On the ground are the carpenter's tools. This biblical episode is quite unusual in iconography. Here we see the hand of a Venetian artist working in the early eighteenth century and imbued with the works of Giovanni Battista Pittoni and Giovanni Antonio Pellegrini. Very good state of conservation. Sold with invoice & certificate.
