Totally random decoration indeed no symmetry is present in the bottom of the carpet including in the two inverted squares. A bestiary, horses, poultry, snakes are knotted in a profusion of plants, all geometrically. the dyes used for dyeing come mainly from plants and minerals.
The inspiration for these motifs comes mostly from folklore and local superstitions, but also from the frescoes and columns of the ancient Persepolis close to this area. The set is enhanced by a wide border and three stripes.
The wool used comes from a mixture of wool of sheep, goats, camels, and horsehair can also be found.
The Khamseh tribe originates from the Shiraz area of Fars province in southwestern Iran.
