Commode Louis XV, curved on all three sides, opening with 5 drawers on 3 rows, rosewood veneer, rosewood and boxwood nets. Beautiful gilded bronze ornamentation such as handles, keyholes, lampholders and falls. Marble top Aleppo breccia groove. Stamped P. ROUSSEL as well as stamp of JME Jande. Pierre ROUSSEL is a Parisian cabinetmaker, born in 1723 and died in 1782. He was awarded a master's degree in 1745. He furnishes furniture to the Prince de Condé for the Palais Bourbon and Château de Chantilly. In 1769 he was mentioned as "one of the first cabinetmakers" of Paris. Jurande (JME) consisted in choosing and checking masters masterpieces.
