A captivating Kazakh kilim with mirrored ram's horn motifs. The piece is powerful in its minimalist composition of broad horizontal bands, yet so soft and warm with a perfectly mastered harmony of colors. The indigo blues are dense and saturated, the reds luminous and deep. Of note is the subtle presence of a ravishing and rather rare or unexpected Champagne hue that completes the picture. Yes, the work has a striking pictorial aspect; it's an ocean of color to be placed on the floor. In an ultra-compact format. Wool on wool. The weave is fine and precise. The vegetal hues also showcase all the expertise of Kazakh productions of this period. Late 19th century, circa 1880. Very good overall condition, some old and well-executed restorations.
