Rare example of a Caucasian carpet called Saliani, originating from the Southeast Caucasus.
From the first part of the 20th century. 1900-1920.

This beautiful rug is in very good condition for its age and measures 132 cm wide by 205 cm long.
The colors used are quite distinctive: wolf pelt, violet, and blue.

The design is found only on Saliani rugs, typical of those from the village of Lenkoran, and likely depicts a millipede.
The overall design consists of a stylized floral motif surrounding a highly structured rug.
The attractive border features large, stylized flowers in a dusty rose color against a luminous blue background.
The wool is soft and lustrous, creating a harmonious whole.
This rug has been professionally and ecologically cleaned.
