Portrait of a Lady as Saint Cecilia, oak panel, two planks, unmounted. Curved (convex) panel. Very good condition, sound and clean paint layer. Height 34.8 cm, width 26.5 cm. Elegant small portrait of a lady as Saint Cecilia, on oak panel, by Jean Ducayer, active in France probably between 1605 and 1635. Although we have little information about this painter, he seems to have produced mainly portraits of ladies, queens, and princesses. His panel works have characteristic dimensions of approximately 35 x 26 cm. Typical of Ducayer's work, known for his portraits of ladies with idealized features, this painting also measures 35 x 26 cm.
