Embossed, chiseled, and nielloed silver plate, 60 cm in diameter, depicting the 'Battle of Barga' with medallions of the leaders involved in the battle. Made for the 150th anniversary of the Venetian and Florentine victory over the Milanese army in 1437, it was subsequently dated 1587 and signed by Cabriello Ciullo, a student of Cellini. Expertise by Professor Sambonet and his team, who carried out the technical and scientific tests necessary to establish its age and authenticity. This object was donated to the Doge by the city of Florence and stolen during an exhibition at Palazzo Tagliavia, the former headquarters of the Seidita Auction House. €10,000 is being offered to anyone who can collaborate in its restitution through the Carabinieri Cultural Heritage Unit.
