Miniature on copper. Portrait of a lady with white collar. Dutch school, 1630–1640.
Medium: oil on copper. Dimensions: 6.5 × 5.3 cm (without frame); 10 × 8.5 cm (with frame). Suspension ring approx. 8 mm.
Small oval miniature depicting a lady in bust view, wearing a dark dress with a wide white turned-down collar, a detail typical of European fashion between 1630 and 1640. The hairstyle, parted in the centre with locks falling on the sides, is also consistent with the period and with the Dutch context.
Set in a well-crafted frame in wood with a gilt bronze border decorated with small spheres, complete with suspension ring; the frame is slightly later but still of the period.
Condition: some small retouches; overall in good condition with patina.
