Bright impressionist painting from the 1920s-1930s which depicts a pleasant landscape with a view of a lively village in the Hautes-Pyrénées...The work is signed by the painter Henri Borde (1888-1958) an excellent artist to whom the Bénézit devotes a chapter and whose biography can be read on the Wikipedia site: he was a painter and sculptor who exhibited his works in Paris in most of the major salons, from 1921 to 1931...very attached to his region of the South-West, he translated the landscapes in a vigorous touch with strong colors (dixit le Bénézit). Values & auctions: the value of his works varies from a few hundred to several thousand euros, depending on their theme and quality: his record at 2600 euros was announced in 2012 for a canvas entitled "nudes and children in a landscape", which exceeded his previous record of 2000 euros obtained for a canvas entitled "reclining nude" / Source Art-Price.
