Extremely rare and large bust - reliquary of Archbishop Charle Borromeo de Gonzaga (1538-1584), Archbishop of Milan. Silver plated metal on a wooden core, finely embossed and chiseled with baroque decoration. Representation of a bishop wearing a mitre, central opening at chest level housing a capsule - reliquary (6 cm diameter): "S. CAROLI Episcopi.." High quality work of sacred art, Italy 18th century. As is (wear and small accidents).
